Christmas 2006

It's this time of year that we especially miss our family that lives so far away from us!

Happy Birthday Keagan!!

Keagan turned 3 on December 13th, 2006.

December

Lot's of things going on for us in December, Kayla's Christmas program, Keagan's birthday, Christmas parties, etc.

Fall 2006

We took the kids to a big water park for a special "end of summer" outing.The water park had an indoor play area complete with a huge wave pool and a "Fruit" island. The park also had lots of fun play areas outdoors including "Thrilling" water slides, rock climing, "river" float, etc. There are so many things to do there that we couldn't do them all in one day!

Good bye Emily and Jayde.

August 3rd, Emily and Jayde had to go back home. Three weeks sure went fast! We hope that the girls had the "experience of a lifetime". We will miss them!

Enoshima

All of "The Girls" and Keagan went down to Enoshima beach to watch the fireworks display.

Sanrio Puroland

We took Emily and Jayde to Sanrio Puroland. My friend Mieko and her daughter Asuka joined us. We all had a great time.

Family Visit

We went for a visit with Akira's family. They took us all out for a very nice dinner.

Tokyo Disney Resort

We went on a 2 day trip to the Tokyo Disney Resort. The first day we went to Tokyo Disney Sea. The second Day we went to Tokyo Disneyland.

Yunessun

We took the girls to Yunessun. (A hot springs resort with over 50 different types of baths)

Yokohama

We took the girls to Yokohama to eat at the Hard Rock Cafe. We watched a street performer that juggled with fire and rode a very tall unicycle. Then we walked around in "China Town" looking in the shops and buying some food to take with us to eat at Yamashita park.

Summer Festival

All of us got dressed in Yukata's (like a summer kimono) and went to the Summer Festival at Kayla's school.

Make your own Sushi roll party!

We had fun letting the kids make their own original Sushi rolls. We had several different toppings to choose from, including sashimi and fish eggs!

Emily and Jayde's visit to Japan!

Yay! Emily and Jayde came to visit us this summer!

Kayla's 6th Birthday!

Puroland (Hello Kitty Land)

This year for Kayla's birthday, Kayla decided that she would like to go to Puroland. Kayla's friend Kyoko and her family joined us. The girls had a great time!

Tama Dobutsuen (Zoo)

This year, Kayla's school field trip was to the zoo! Akira happened to have the day off from work so we could all go with Kayla!

Kodomo No Kuni (Park's name)

April 30th, we took the kids to this nice, really big park. This park is full of nature and lots of things to do!

Family Trip

At the beginning of April, we went on a little two night trip to Kawaguchiko. We stayed at a Bed & Breakfast. It was located in the mountains and near a lake.

Christmas 2005

We had a wonderful Christmas this year!

Keagan's 2nd Birthday!

We had a little party at home, just the four of us to celebrate Keagan's 2nd birthday!

Kayla's Christmas Program

On December 10th Kayla had her Christmas program at school.

November 2005

Halloween at Tokyo Disneyland

We got to go to Disneyland for the Halloween festivities again this year!
We decided to wait in the really looooong line so that Kayla and Keagan could meet Mickey Mouse in person for the first time! :)

Halloween Party

We had a really fun Halloween party this year! Everyone had a great time.

Loose Tooth!

In October Kayla had her first loose tooth. She lost her first baby tooth on October 8th, 2005!

Olympics!

Kayla had an "Olympics" type event put on by her school and took place at a near by elementary school.

August

We spent most of August in Spokane.

Summer Festival

We all attended Kayla's "Natsu Matsuri" (Summer Festival) at her school and had a great time.

Kayla's 5th Birthday!

June 3rd was Kayla's 5th Birthday. Come and see how we celebrated and share in on her big milestone!

Park

Also during "Golden Week" we went to Kodomo No Kuni. (Children's Country)
It is a very nice big park with lots of fun things to do and see.

Golden Week

The first week of May is referred to as "Golden Week" by the Japanese. The reason for this is there are 3 holidays that fall with in the same week. We went to "Puroland" (Hello Kitty theme park)

Yochien Spring

First Day of School!

Kayla had her first day of school on April 8th. This year she is in "Usagi" (rabbit) class. Her teacher's name is Tamami Sensei.

Kayla had her last day of school for the 2004~2005 school year on March 18th.

Hina Matsuri (Doll's festival)

Here in Japan, on March 3rd, we celebrate "Hina Matsuri". This is a holiday for girls.

Art Festival!

There was an Art Festival at Kayla's Yochien in February.
Kayla is very proud of her artwork.

Setsubun

This is a traditional Japanese yearly event. We throw dried beans at the "Oni" (Demon?) and say "Oni wa soto, Fuku wa uchi!" (Out with Demon, In with good fortune!)

Kayla's Christmas Program

We started our Halloween celebrations a little early this year.

Riverfront Park

While we were in Spokane, we got to spend a day at Riverfront Park. We rode on the carousel, fed the ducks, ate hot dogs and hamburgers, and fed the "goat".

February 3rd, we celebrated "Setsubun". A Japanese event to ward off bad luck in the hopes of inviting good luck in.

Omiyamairi (Dedication Ceremony)

On February 1st, We took Keagan to Samukawa Shrine. Akira's family also came with us. We are thankful for Keagan's safe arrival and prayed for his continued health and happiness.

Christmas 2003

Welcome Keagan

Santa brought us a very precious Christmas gift a little early! Our newest family member, Keagan Chase Nakazawa, was born on December 13th, 2003 at 12:15 a.m. He weighed 3494 grams (7.7 pounds) and was 52 cm long (20.5 inches).

Seven-Five-Three Festival

Kayla turned three this year. Kayla celebrated the 7, 5 and 3 festival at the Samukawa Shrine with Grandma and Grandpa Nakazawa.
